Pastor Javon Jackson
Pastor Javon Jackson is a native of Augusta, Georgia. He attended school in the Richmond County School System, graduating from George P. Butler High School. His post-secondary academic pursuits include,
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics/Secondary Education, Paine College, Augusta, Georgia
- Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Augusta State University, Augusta, Georgia
- Masters of Divinity, Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia
- Tier 1 Certification in Educational Leadership, Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia
- Specialist in Education in Educational Leadership, Augusta University, Augusta, Georgia
At the age of 14, Pastor Jackson professed his call to preach in the Year 2000 at the Jenkins Memorial Church, Hephzibah, Georgia under the tutelage of Pastor Timothy R. Green, Jr. He was licensed as a minister in July of 2000. Pursuant of the call God had placed on his life, Pastor Jackson was ordained into the gospel ministry in 2008 by Bishop Othal Hawthorne Lakey.
He has been blessed to serve in numerous capacities in ministry to include:
- Youth minister and musician at Jenkins Memorial Church, Augusta, GA (2000 – 2008)
- Pastor of the Raise Bridge Church, Waynesboro, GA (2008-2011)
- Pastor of the Holsey Monumental Church, Columbus, GA (2011-2014)
- Pastor of the Holsey Chapel Church, Columbus, GA (2014-2018)
- Pastor of the Phillips Temple Church, Phenix City, AL (2018-2021)
He is married to the former Latanya Brown of Blackshear, Ga, and they are the parents of two young men, Jacquez and Jamyus. He is currently employed by the Richmond County Board of Education as an Assistant Principal at Lucy C. Laney High School.
In his personal time, Pastor Jackson enjoys reading, staying abreast of current affairs, sports, playing the piano, and photography. His favorite verse is Lamentations 3:22-23, “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not, they are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness.” His life’s mission is simple, “be led by the Will of God, lift Christ, and find joy in the things that life offers!”
